Susan Lipscomb, CPA*, CFP®, is Vice President and Treasurer of Argent Wealth Management, Inc. Prior to founding Argent Wealth Management in 2005, Susan founded and managed a successful public accounting practice. For more than 12 years, the CPA practice served primarily high income / high net worth clients and small business clients. Before establishing the CPA practice, Susan was with the public accounting firm Ernst & Young in Austin, Texas for approximately eight years.


Susan completed the University of Texas Financial Planning program in 2004, passed the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER (TM) certification exam on her first attempt in July 2004, and obtained certification as a CFP® Professional in November 2004. Susan passed the Certified Public Accountant exam on the first sitting in November 1985. Due to her scores on the CPA exam, she was awarded a "Top Ten" award from the Texas State Board of Public Accountancy and the Elijah Watts Sells award of High Distinction from the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants ("AICPA"). Susan graduated Cum Laude from Baylor University in 1985 with a B.B.A. Degree, with a Major in Accounting and a Minor in International Business. Prior to graduating, she spent the summer of 1984 studying business finance through Baylor in London, England. Susan is a member of the AICPA and Texas Society of CPA's.


Susan and her husband enjoy traveling, gardening, and church activities. Susan has two adult children that live in Austin.

Scott Jacobsmeyer, CFP®, is President and Chief Compliance Officer of Argent Wealth Management, Inc. Prior to founding Argent Wealth Management Scott spent 10 years with Alcoa (1994-2000) and Dell (2000-2004) in a variety of Operations, Procurement, and Commodity Management positions.


Scott holds a Bachelor's Degree (Materials Science and Engineering, 1992), a Master's Degree (Mechanical Engineering, 1994), and an MBA (Sloan School of Management, 1994) from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Scott completed the University of Texas Financial Planning program in 2004, passed the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER (TM) certification exam on his first attempt in March 2004, and obtained certification as a CFP® Professional in March 2008.  Scott is an active member of the Austin Chapter of the Financial Planning Association (FPA) and the National Association of Personal Financial Advisors (NAPFA).


Outside of work Scott is passionate about long distance hiking. He has successfully "thru-hiked" the 2650 mile Pacific Crest National Scenic Trail in 2004, the 468 mile Colorado Trail in 2005, the 270 mile Long Trail (Vermont) in 2006-2007, and the 93 mile Wonderland Trail (Mt.
